A restaurant he created and designed with his own artistic talents. Michael has successfully introduced the table d’hôte dining experience to the city of Winnipeg. There were more than a few skeptics with regard to his concept of a table d’hôte menu, however after three & a half years and forty monthly menus later, his skeptics are no longer doubters. Michaels’ restaurant was recognized by WHERE Canada as One of the top 10 new Restaurants in Canada in 2004. Sydney’s has also landed itself in Anne Hardy’s “Where to eat in Canada†three years in a row since the day Michael opened his doors. Went here for a work xmas party. Delicious food - the service was phenominal - they were quick, funny and made you feel welcome. The food was amazing and rich. The best restaurant in Winnipeg Cheers!   (9.5)

In my opinion, this is the best fine food restaurant in Winnipeg. I've been a regular for four years, and have never had a negative experience. Excellent serving staff, excellent food. |

The BEST restaurant in Winnipeg with 100% certainty. Chef Micheal Schafer has the ultimate grasp of subtle mixed with punchy. This is beyond fine dining - NO ONE will walk away from Sydney's without being 100% satisfied and full!! With a menu that changes monthly - my wife & are there 12 times yearly minimun  (10.0)

I must agree with the previous comments. I go out for lunch on a regular basis, and have tried many of the restaurants in Winnipeg (and other cities). This restaurant is amazing for lunch. And that's not even what they do best. Dinner is their specialty, and they certainly don't disappoint there, either. The service is the best in the city. The food, itself, as well as its presentation, is unmatched. They've got a good thing going over there. (10.0)

My favorite restaurant in Winnipeg hands down! Great service, great menu (which changes Monthly!), and great wine list! Can't say enough good about it. (10.0)
